Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University – specializing in Middle Grades Math and Science
What is your previous work experience?
I taught 7th/8th science and yearbook at Terry Middle School in Mesquite ISD for three years. I taught 6th grade science at Gary Comer College Prep Middle School in Chicago, Illinois for two years. I taught 5-8th math and 7-8th science at ACS during the 2019-2020 school year and now will be returning to teach 7th grade science and biology.
Tell us a little about your family:
I’ve been married to my best friend, Jacob, for the past five years. We are enjoying the biggest adventure of our life being parents to a sweet and sassy one year old!
What do you enjoy about Classical education?
I am most excited to teach at ACS to encourage scholars to see God’s beautifully complex creation as they go through their lives.
Why are you interested in teaching in at Austin Classical School? What do you love about students in the grade you’re teaching?
I love my middle grades scholars curiosity and ability to question the world around them. I am most looking forward to encouraging their love and knowledge of God the Creator through studying different sciences.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love being outdoors – hiking, walking, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking. Along with teaching and staying home with my daughter, I have a family photography business where I get to pair my love for photography with my love for people.
What do you hope your students will learn from you this year?
I hope my scholars walk away from my classes this year constantly recognizing God’s glory and beauty in His creation.
